Privacy Policy for Network Tools
Effective Date: February 21, 2025
This Privacy Policy explains how the Network Tools mobile application (the "App") handles your data. We are committed to protecting your privacy while providing you with transparent network diagnostic utilities.
Summary: This app does not collect personal information, does not share your data with third parties, and contains no advertisements. It uses internet and network permissions solely to perform the diagnostic tasks you initiate.
1. Zero Personal Data Collection Policy
The App is built on a "Privacy by Design" principle:
- No Personal Information: We do not collect, store, or transmit any personally identifiable information (PII) such as your name, email address, phone number, or contact list.
- Diagnostic Integrity: The IP addresses or domain names you enter for testing (Ping, Traceroute, DNS Lookup, etc.) are used only to perform the requested query. We do not log or track your search history.
2. Permissions and Usage
The App requires specific permissions to provide its core diagnostic functionality:
- Internet Access: Used to perform network tests (Ping, Traceroute, DNS/IP Lookups) and communicate with public diagnostic servers to retrieve results.
- Network & Wi-Fi State: Used to display your local connection details, such as SSID, link speed, and internal IP address.
- Location Permissions: Required by the Android operating system to access Wi-Fi hardware identifiers (like SSID). We do not use this to track your physical location or movements.
- Phone State: Used solely to identify cellular network types (e.g., 4G/5G) to provide accurate connection info.
3. Data Processing & Third-Party Queries
Real-time Processing
All diagnostic data is processed in real-time. Results are displayed on your screen and are not recorded or saved by the developer.
Public Services
When using external lookup tools (e.g., WHOIS or Geo-IP), the App sends the target IP/Domain to reputable third-party API providers (such as HackerTarget or My-Addr) to retrieve the information. No user-identifying data is sent with these queries.
4. Google Play Data Safety Compliance
To assist with the Google Play Data Safety section, we confirm the following:
- Data Collection: No user data is collected.
- Data Sharing: No user data is shared with third parties.
- Security: All web-based diagnostic queries are performed over secure, encrypted connections (HTTPS) where available.
5. Local Preferences
The App may store basic configuration data (such as your chosen theme or recent UI state) locally on your device. This data never leaves your device and is deleted if you uninstall the App.
6. No Advertisements
The App does not contain any third-party advertisements, tracking SDKs, or marketing mechanisms. It is a clean, utility-focused tool.
7. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy occasionally. Any changes will be reflected by the "Effective Date" at the top of this page.
8. Contact
For any questions regarding this privacy policy, please contact the developer via the email provided on the Google Play Store listing.
